If you’re like me then you love getting freebies!  I just went through the process with Amazon to get their Welcome Box from my baby registry.  As with most freebies you have to do something to get it.  So, I’m going to go over what you have to do and what I received in my Welcome Box.

First of all, you will need an active Amazon Prime account in order to be eligible for the Welcome Box.  The Baby Registry owner will be the only one available to get the Welcome Box but they can be a Prime Member or receiving Prime Benefits as part of an Amazon Household.  If you are not part of either, it’s ok.  You can sign up for a 30 day free trial of Prime.  After that it’s $99 a year.

There are some Prime benefits that I think you should know about.  Prime members get 20% off diaper subscriptions through Amazon Family which is free for all Prime members.  When you sign up, you create a child profile to begin with Amazon Family.  Another thing being a Prime member is you get a 15% off Baby Registry completion discount instead of 10%.  You also get FREE two day shipping on Prime items.  Members can create an Amazon Household and share certain Prime benefits including:  Free Prime shipping, Prime Video Streaming, Amazon Family Discounts, Prime Photos (unlimited storage space for photos), and more.

If you would like to sign up for Amazon Prime, you can click the picture below.

Now that you have an Amazon Prime account, let’s go over Amazon’s Baby Registry and how you can receive your Welcome Box.  Amazon’s Baby Registry benefits are:

Universal Registry – Easily add items from any site for one easy to manage registry.

Mobile Registry – Update anytime and from anywhere.

Large Selection – Over 270,000 baby items.

90-Day Returns – You have 90 days to return most items purchased from your registry.

Completion Discount – 10% off across Amazon.com.  Upgraded to 15% off for Prime members.

Free Shipping – Free shipping on orders over $49.  Free two-day shipping for Prime members.

The next step would be creating your Baby Registry.  After you have created your registry, you will need to use Jumpstart to qualify for the Welcome Box.  Keep in mind within any category you can select “Mark as complete” to indicate you have no need for that category in your baby registry.  Trust me, using Jumpstart is kind of time consuming but so is doing a registry all in itself which is why the “mark as complete” option is there.  Once you have completed Jumpstart, there has to be a purchase made of at least $10 (does not include tax or shipping costs) from the registry.  Keep in mind Gift Cards do not qualify as a purchase.  When your order has shipped the requirements have been met and you can now claim your Welcome Box.

Now, to claim your Welcome Box you have to sign into your Amazon Account and go to your Baby Registry.  Once there you will have to click the “Claim Now” button which should add it to your cart and then you check out just like you were making a purchase except this time there is zero amount due.
