Drumroll…..after a long wait, Riverbend Creamery is now open! Their official Grand Opening Extravaganza will be held this Saturday September 4, 2021 starting at 11:00am. Shelby and I went this past Friday to check them out and enjoy some ice cream that’s made in house.

First, I will start off by saying the view was amazing when we arrived. The creamery was bigger than I expected and it was a beautiful sight.

We walked inside to order ice cream which they have different flavors and you can get it in a cup or cone. They also make their waffle cones or bowls there. Other things on the menu were Shakes, Sundaes and Toppings. Don’t forget about the pints of ice cream to go. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and helpful.

Inside the creamery, they have a gift shop where items like t-shirts, mugs and coolers can be purchased. It’s so cozy inside. They even have games for you to play if you want.

One wall has two fridges with milk and water in them. A freezer is also along the same wall which held some of the pint ice cream.

The Prices are as follows for milk:

  • Gallon: $4.89
  • Half Gallons: $3.39
  • Chocolate Half Gallon: $3.59
  • Quarts: $2.10
  • Chocolate Quarts: $2.39
  • Pints: $1.35
  • Chocolate Pints: $1.49

I purchased a chocolate pint for us to try. Shelby declares it tastes like chocolate ice cream.

After ice cream we went outside and checked out the scenery. They have rocking chairs on the front porch for you to enjoy rocking and admiring the view.

Then we headed out to see the Jersey Cows. According to Riverbend Creamery’s website:

  • Jerseys offer premium milk that tastes richer and creamier than other milk
  • Jersey milk has up to 20% more protein, 18% more calcium, 12% more phosphorous and more B12.
  • Jerseys mostly produce A2/A2 beta-casein protein, which is said to be more easily digested
  • A2/A2 milk is cows milk that contains the A2 type of beta-casein protein instead of the more common A1 protein found in most milk. Our bodies digest A1 and A2 protein milk differently. A2 protein milk is often described as being more easily digested. Individuals that are lactose intolerant often return to cow’s milk if it’s A2 protein milk.

Riverbend Creamery plans to offer farm tours and are taking interest forms on their website. If you are interested in this, please click here and fill out their form. I can’t wait to take Shelby on a tour.

Overall, it is with great pleasure that I write an article on Riverbend Creamery and I’m super excited they are now open and we have a dairy farm in Lincolnton. We definitely will be returning customers and I believe you will be too. Ready to visit then head over to 4391 Ritchie Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Enjoy your trip to the farm!
